These are beautiful!!
What type of finish do you use to keep the grain from raising after the first use?

I use a block oil and attach instructions on what to do at first. Every piece I have made has the grain raise. I tell people to use a new piece of scotch brite and then apply some oil, preferably mineral or block something that won’t turn on them.
I let my items soke overnight in the oil to let it soak in deep which seems to help.

Seer – what’s your method to scoop out the spoon part. I know that batter spoons generally don’t have a deep scoop – but still – how do you do it?
Beautiful spoons by the way!

Believe or not I do it on a Rigid Sander when I do the curve it puts a little bowl in it which is all you need for this type of spoon. I am able to make the curve using the spindle and belt area on the left. It has surprised me how easy it actually is the handles can be more cumbersome depending on what you want either round or flat. i like a meaty handle on mine.
