Friend of mine needed a small storage box for his wood pellet stove pellets rather than have an open bag of them in his living room. He also wanted to be able to sit on it to tie his shoes , etc. , so it had to be sturdy enough to support his bulk plus the pellets and still be small enough to fit in a certain area near the pellet stove . His wife was going to fashion a seat cushion for it as well . The hinged top when opened actually rests on the back of the box once again due to the area it needs to be in and still allows room for a full bag of pellets to be inserted in the box . I put a 5 degree bevel on the back edge of the lid , just enough to keep it open by itself and so it wouldn’t be against the wall where they wanted to keep the box. I see by the pictures they sent me that someone scratched the face of it before they put their own stain and finish on it. Oh well , maybe I can find the pre-stained pix of it and post them here as well …hahaa thanks for looking and any comments you may leave : )

Very nicely done. At what interval did you space your pocket holes? Looks sturdy as well as functional!
