Needing handles for my files that fit my hand better than the small plastic ones some come with, and others that had no handle at all I took a chance and turned a couple to begin with. Having success I borrowed from my pen making creativity and made some more this time a little longer and with lines of purpleheart, blue mayhew and maple. The two handles without files are for Bearpaw who gave me all of the small scraps of wood I used in this project.

They look good. Thanks for the handles. Now I have to find a time to get over there.

Hi Gunny, Pretty fancy set of files you got there! I like the combination of woods and the patterns in the glue ups. The purpleheart makes a nice contrast with the maple. Nice Job!

Those files looked all dressed up and ready to go to work. Nice going.

Thanks, I have four I am making for another LJ that asked for some help. Those are made of maple with a purpleheart strip about 1/8” and a tail of solid purpleheart that should take all the abuse of being beaten on the next decade or so. It has been an interesting project as these chisels require a tendon coming out of the handle not a shaft that goes into the handle. Something new, someone suggested they are Swiss made I have no idea.
