Shop Tip - Turn Your Tablesaw into a Downdraft Sanding Table

Made this downdraft sanding station sometime ago based on a tip published in the WOOD magazine. The add-on fits into the miter-slots and is used with the dust collection system attached to the tablesaw. Make sure the tablesaw is unplugged before turning on the dust collection system if you use an auto-vac switch.

For some time, I’ve been meaning to:

1) Build a downdraft table
2) Add a dust-removal system to my TS

This gets both done in a very straightforward way! Thanks for the tip!

Now that is pretty darned cool.

I already have the downdraft panels from Rockler. Haven’t made the box yet, and now I’ll use this idea instead.

Thanks for the tip.
