This is a Bentwood Ring, Cherry liner, Walnut outside and crushed Turquoise inlay!
This ring is a gift for a friend of a friend, who like me is on disability she had seen my rings from a friend of mine and really wanted one but doesn’t really have the money to buy one. So I threw this together for her, She asked for Walnut and Turquoise, But I went ahead and made it with a cherry liner.
It is not my best but I am pleased with it as I hope she is too…
This was the first time I bent the wood (Walnut) on the outside as 2 pieces and left a groove for the inlay instead of cutting a groove for the inlay, I think it Turned out well.. What do you guys and gals think?
Thanks for looking and for any comments or advice!!
God Bless.

Great job, Cherry and Walnut are two of my favorites, the wood and the food.

Robert, About how long does it take you from start to finished ring? I know you do everything by hand, I was just curious…

Well TJ, It kinda depends on what kind I am making. Lamination Style or Bentwood style.
Bentwood take longer to make and this one took me a total of about 13-15 hrs, it is made with CA glue so dry time is a lot quicker.
The lamination style take me a little less time but I glue them up with gorilla glue so I do wait 24hrs for that to dry
The one I made out of Cocobolo, Brass with mother-of-pearl inlay took about 30-32 hrs to make not counting glue dry time that was just how much work I put into it! Lamination style are easier and can be made very nicely, Bentwood style takes a lot more Patience, Practice and Time or “PPT”(most of them) but they are stronger and some consider them the cream of the crop!
I like them both!
Hope this helps if not ask me more I’ll tell all my secrets LOL!

Thank You, Sir Rance!
Thanks for the very kind words about the ring and about the Photos!
I have been having alot of people telling me my photos take away from the rings but I want that rustic look, I got one of those little photo light tents and I am still playing with it! Trial and Error you know?
Thanks again, Rance it really means a lot!
