Project Information

I built this sled for my table saw so I could do taper cuts. The plans came from Fine Wood Working #229. Sorry for the cruddy picture…i did not realize I had an oil smear on my phone camera. The initial picture shows the sled in action cutting the first taper on the leg.. The second picture shows a leg that has one taper cut, and is placed in the jig for the second cut.

The sled works by being clamped to the TS fence with a slider. It does not use the miter slot The board to be cut is held in by the toggle clamp, and a screw sticking out of the stop block at the close end. It was very secure and the cuts were quite repeatable. Made the job a breeze!

I like the idea of clamping it to the miter slot. Nice looking jig.

On to the short list it goes :)
