GF needed a step stool to reach the top shelves in her closet, so I used it as a chance to practice some hand-cut dovetails. Top is beech, sides are Honduran mahogany, both about 1 1/8th inch thick. Back support is black walnut and the sliding dovetailed runners are wenge. Runners were a bit of an afterthought based on the step not being as stable as I had hoped. Sort of a funky design. Finished in a couple of coats of poly. Enjoy!!
Dimensions: 20”w x 7”d x 10”h

I like the concept and your dovetail skills. : )
The 10” high step would be a killer for me and my bad knees (old age sucks) and at only 7” deep I’d have to be very careful with my clodhopper placements : )
Keep up the good work !

Nice work. Wish my hand cut dovetails looked that good.

I like your step up, but like Dusty56 said – the old knees won’t make the 10” climb :-)
