My first attempt at a custom made blank. Took some old scraps of padauk and oak and glued them up. Then while turning I wanted to try a different pattern. Was surprised when the padauk came out shaped like it was. This is actually a very comfortable pen to hold.

Looks good, like the mixing of woods. Make more.

Great use of scraps. Pens are definitely on my to-do list. Not having made one, I wonder if part of what might make this pen comfortable to hold is the slightly larger mass at the tip of the pen. If the opposite were true, perhaps the pen would be top heavy when writing? Thanks for sharing.

Nicely done. I have yet to experiment much with segmenting but want to get around to trying some out. Great way to use up scraps. Be interested in seeing a pic of the preturned blank if you have one.

Beautiful pen, like segmented turnings. Looks handy and comfortable to use.
