I had collected these local beer taps many years ago and one of my sons has asked me many times to make him something from them. Since I don’t have a bar in the house, they sat unused all this time.
I finally set about trying to design a project around them, in particular the Keith’s IPA one, which is by far the most popular beer in my neck of the woods – its been brewed down the road for almost 200 years now!
I finally came up with the coat rack idea and used the tap as a finial for them. The “hooks” were turned to look like small bar taps and I added some detail to them by printing some water slide decals on my colour laser printer – did not turn out too bad. The wood is oak.
On the base, the Keith’s one has a plastic disc inlaid into the base and the other is another waterslide decal. I think the boys will be pleased with these…
