Made this out of scrap wood from guys of the red rocks cc shop. Made with Padauk, Purple heart, Maple, Cherry, and Beech. Padauk will make your face turn orange next to a laithe! Always having fun with these bowls.

Nice bowl. Do you use a press while laminating?

Why do you call it a “luck bowl?” It sure is pretty whatever the reason.

It reminded me of a pot luck bowl, so i changed the pot to padauk.

The glue up is done by first glueing semented series of wood (like the cherry strip, maple, purple heart, maple, cherry)
then plane them , draw a circle on it to be what i cut out to then glue ontop a few different kinds of the circles. When all glued together, i put a hole on the where i want the top to be the stick on the laithe and make a bowl. Ive made 6 of these now and havent paid a dime to do it because i just use scrapwoods.
