So like usual I find pallets and make things out of them. I needed a TV dinner/laptop holder for the couch. All of this was made using two pallets. First process removing 1098464829294656483 nails and then planing them down with my no. 4 Stanley. I then laminated the red oak and mystery wood together. I really have no idea what kind it is. I also made the legs with my plane and a cheap rasp. I thought it kind of funny that the tree starts out round, somebody makes it square, and then I try to make it round again. Yeah I don’t own a lathe. Anyway the dowels came from a used foam brush handle (I don’t really throw out anything that’s wood). I finished it with a red mahogany stain and then put Danish oil over that….......which caused the stain to bleed into everything. Causing this brilliant look! Completely unintentional. my way of building doesn’t involve much thought. Kind of like “I think I’ll build a lamp…..it’s not looking like a lamp…......maybe it could be a pepper mill….....or a box…...or a doorstop…....or, that kind of brilliance can’t be taught. Anyway it works…..the laptop holder that is. Please be gentle, I’m not that good, but I’m having fun

The key to style is consistency. Just make sure you’re consistently unintentionally rustic. It looks like you’ve made a good start, though.

Step up your game and post a project with duct tape, (laughing)Be sure it has some wood in it, maybe use the duct tape as a hinge or something…
