Hello LJ members & friends…
The first 4 pics from L to R are Hepplewhite cherry table. I’ve made 4 now. For a fledgling woodworker, this table is a very doable and simple design with all the sophistication of a much larger piece; elements include: hand cut dovetails, mortice & tennon joinery, tapering legs on a jointer. To get such plans on CD…look up Glen Hewey. I highly recommend this CD video, and more are available.
The last piece on the far right is a high boy made by my mentor, Jeremy. His work is all classically built, with all hand cut dovetails, hand planing on all flat surfaces and turned finials. The finishing is a complicated analine water dye with laquer spray. More to it but that’s all I know off the top of my head.
Bookcase in the next project.

Hey Paul. As Ellen commented, nice to see you posting again. Great job on this table. I know how much work and effort you put into making it “just right”. The results justify the effort. As for Jeremy’s piece, we both know his craftsmanship is off the charts.

Well done. The dovetails look really elegant with the thin pins.
