This is the toolbox we make in the first year of woodworking apprenticeship here in Switzerland. I am proud to still have it. It has been a great companion for the past decade or so. It has been my seat on lunchbreaks when there was no place to sit, held open doors when making deliveries and was my step stool when I couldn’t reach. A real treasure chest . Some say that a woodworkers toolbox is their business card, I like the idea, but have yet to come across a client that has noticed… Recently the box received a sand job and a few new coats of varnish. I plan on using it for many more years to come.

Sturdy and reliable. You’ll have no problem getting years more out of it.

Sounds like you built it well and used it as it was meant to be used, the fact that you have clients and are
continuing to use this box indicates that you are making a living at it, whether they notice the tool box or not.
Thank you for sharing. A few dimensions would be nice though.

It looks like a great tool chest. I know you must have fond memories of building it. Hang on to it even if you outgrow it.
