This pen is made form Colophospermum mopane or the common name is Mopani. This wood can be found in northern and southern parts of Africa. The wood is a deep brown with hints of red. The pen itself has a Cyanoacrylate finish (CA) or what is known as super glue, it has a very shiny finish too it. I wet sanded it from 1500 grit to 12000 grit micro mesh sand paper. This is the first pen i tried the CA finish. I recommend this finishing process to any one who likes to turn pens.

Nice looking pen, can you elaborate on the finishing process? Have thought about trying it a few times but wanted some input from someone that actually did it and I could ask a questin or two… LOL

Great job! I agree, all my pens get the CA finish. It looks fasntastic and is VERY durable. :)
