Try as I might I just couldn’t get things going today. All I managed to finish was four of these little box calls. All are elm with a poplar strip on top of the sound chamber. It gives a nice contrast. Here are front and rear views of today’s work.

Hey Tommy, we need to get you one of those TV shows like duck dynasty….Is there anything outdoor related you cant make??? I am thinking not. Nice job as usual bud.

Thanks Buster, I actually do most things outdoors related. I paint Master Level watercolors, have 3 websites, video and on and on. I don’t make traditional bows yet but might some day. Oh and I was in a documentary that came out last year about deer hunters that use social media :-) only person in Tennessee to be in it.

We have all probably been in the woods and Tommy was there there he was invisible and the animal sounds were really just him…you are an outdoorsman you would like the upper peninsula of Michigan about the size of Tenn with 300k people lots of bears, wolf, moose I miss living up there…Nice Calls

Thanks again CT. I know the UP I have family in Michigan, lots of them, my Mom was from there. The UP is nice but way too cold for me plus the limits here are higher :-)

The limits are for hunters and many of the people up there are not in it for hunting…I believe hunters should follow laws I also believe hungry people without money should be allowed to harvest resources God supplies….I had an uncle that was a CO he would throw the book at poachers no mercy…but a starving family taking a deer he would turn a blind eye….I hope there are more like him….
UP cold…lol you think 10 feet of snow and ten below zero…

I wish more were like your uncle. When I can I take more than I need but every one goes to a hungry family as does most of my garden. Poachers I have zero use for and hope they get slammed by the law. Like I said our limit for deer is huge so no chance of getting too many.

Yep we are getting flurries here today and tomorrow but the buttercups have been blooming for weeks. I see green on some trees. I’m ready for spring.
