Project Information

We made this small workbench from Poplar. The base is made with mortise and tenons…..secured with a "horizontal' tusk….....don't know if anyone has done this, or if it will work, but has held up nicely so far.The top is made of 3/4 inch poplar plywood over another 3/4 inch of MDF…...fairly sturdy, but I don't plan on doing anything heavy duty with this table. It turned out to be a nice smaller, affordable workbench. Just finished with seal-coat and a good wax buffing.

That is really a nice work bench, you have included the necessary basics, a flat top, vice and a clamping rail.
You will evolve with your workbench, Mine is 20+ years old and I'm sitll doing improvements … and some are good.
