Bedside table in cherry. I have been wanting for some time to incorporate some carving into my work. The problem is I don’t know how to carve. I started to learn with the wild rose carved in poplar. Got the instruction over on the Traditional Woodworking site. Not too bad. The poplar is a little more friendly than the cherry, but I think it came out pretty well. Looking for more projects to add a little bit of carving

Nice work. Just keep trying. It’s the only way you’ll achieve your goals.

That’s a really good first effort. Like all woodworking skills, the more you do , the better the results.

Very nice, especially for a first try. I’ve been wanting to incorporate small carved details into my furniture. I guess I just need to jump in and give it a shot. Thanks for the post.
