A Wedding Hope Chest

Made as wedding gift for my son and his new bride, this hope chest is made from solid walnut, and sapele, with veneers of anigre and walnut. The interior is lined with aromatic cedar. The design reflects a theme of “The Two shall become One.”
A photograph of the couple taken on their wedding day is inset into the lid-and can be seen when the lid is opened. Gilded inset carvings frame the photograph.

The top is solid Sapele with breadboard ends..

A shop made brass bracket props the lid open.

Thanks for looking.-Alan

I like your shop made lid support. That looks really sturdy.

I saw your design theme before I read your description. Proof to me that it was artfully executed.
