I recently completed this table loosely based on a design called a “library desk” and the hidden drawer idea came from a design on the cover of Popular Woodworking a few months back. The total build time was roughly 8 hours.

Finished with minwax 225 and two coats of a gloss poly.

Always been a fan of secret compartments. Very nice table, Bill.

Nice table. How do you plan to finish it?

Thanks. It was a simple design but I feel that sometimes the simplest designs can be the most useful. It already has a spot allocated for it. For the finish I’m using a basic minwax stain, the Mahogany 225. I’ll condition it first. I’ll probably apply 2 gloss clear coats to the body and 3 to the table top. It was a fun build probably because it was one of my more straightforward ones.

I’m hoping that I have the finish and the first clear coat applied this weekend. If I manage to get it done I’ll post some more photos tomorrow.
