Here is a project I did last summer in the Dining Room – Really easy to make with very few tools.
Hopefully, this will give others some ideas and help out.
Made with 1/4 MDF on the wall and 1/2 MDF for the panels and stiles. Use poplar molding for all the other pieces. Took about a week to complete (Vacation time :-) )
Here is a link to all the pictures during the building process. Photo Link

this is really terrific! How did you apply 1) the 1/4 to the wall; and 2) the 1/2 inch and moldings to the 1/4?

Nice! It turned out great. I’ve been meaning to do something like this at our place.

Thanks everyone. The photo link should show the process pretty well. However, use panel glue and finish nails to attached the 1/4 backing board on the wall..Then the stiles were put in with plain ole titebond and brads.
Trim attached with brad gun and glue.
Hope that helps.

Really nice job and post…. Very inspiring…. I have the same project planned for this summer…. I have not seen it done the way you did and it gave me an example of a much better easier way than the way I thought it was done.
Thank you so much for sharing….

Adds a lot of class to the room.
