Storage/Entryway bench for some friends. Frame and lid are solid walnut. Panels are birch ply. Legs are tapered at end. Bottom rail has a one-inch arch. Legs and rails are mortise/tenon joints. Panels and stiles (?) are tongue-n-groove. There is a leaf inlay on the lid, representing falling leaves, landing in a pile. The leaves are aspen with a walnut “spine”. Twelve leaves in all. The finish is two coats dewaxed shellac, then three coats poly/MS blend, wiped on.

Looks classy and elegant. Like the design, wood and finish and the inlay adds a great touch to it.
