Chunk of walnut for desktop accent point in attic finish out

A friend gave this wonderful chuck of six-inch thick walnut that I finished and had my neighbor give me some scrapers that I used before about 12 or more layers of Tung oil. I’m using it in a finish out of the attic space in my 1926 home here in KC. I wanted a small desk top that I could put in front of the window and it almost serves as a meditation post as well. The second picture shows it sitting on a base of another colored wood. My wife suggested I would get a floating effect by painting it to blend it with everything else. I think she was right.
