7 ’ long 24” deep 32” tall Dresser collaboration with European cabinet maker friend.
Finished piece has solid Marble top (which stone guys broke) day before we gave the piece to the cabinet makers daughter in-lay as a gift . Veneered walnut sides and backs are all finished ( catalyzed Lacquer )so piece can be used center of room, as divider of space… in true Red seal Cabinet maker fashion all doors and drawers are fitted
I did all the solid wood parts /walnut center frame/legs -cross braces
All face components I made from a single slab of “Sound” Spalted maple that had been cut into two pc’s of 2”X9” very rough dimensional lumber , which I carefully re-sawed , planed to 7/8” material .
Then to cabinet makers basic design -I figured out the specs -then milled the pulls in to the face portions and made the side doors appear to be another two banks of drawer , paying very special attention to making sure all lines up once assemble as the front of this dresser 3’ X 7 ” is one piece of wood =zero room for error.
there was in the area of 28 64’s of an inch cuts on width and only “one” for widths!! as all pieces had to be glue together as one glue up -then cut the 4 draws and 2 doors removing “only” a 16th” saw kerf.
Thank you for checking it out
