I always enjoy making things that my wife can use. I think the only thing I make for myself are jigs for the shop. The latest creation is a mahogany and maple recipe box. It’s an original design that evolved on the table saw. It was initially a simple box with miter joints, but I wasn’t satisfied with the plain look of the mahogany wood alone, so I added some maple pillars to both strengthen the joint and provide some interesting contrast. I then chamfered the lid top using the table saw and finished it all with danish oil.
My garage smells of rich mahogany thanks to this project :)
