This was a fun project it didnt cost a whole lot and untill i get some better skills ,i have to build with what i can afford to
i know pine aint the best for furnuture but it’ll hold up a while plus if i screw up its not as bad as if it was some of the better and more costly wood ,i would like to thank Dan http://lumberjocks.com/deceiver for the posting of this table he had built one for his girl going thur medical school and needed a cheap table for her dorm room and Dan i know you make high end stuff too but thanks for this one ,it was a learning project and fun one too as you said but it took me a bit longer, he did a blog on this and here,s the link http://lumberjocks.com/deceiver/blog/33448 i pretty much stayed to his blog
i did dress it up a little got some Fleur-de-lis from Hobbie Lobbie for the sides and the front draw, and practiced some mortise and tendon on the bottom span , i really got some learning to do there but Sharpe chisels is a must ,i used a Golden oak stain, these pics are taken with the first coat of poly i will do a few more and get a high gloss but right now this rain has stop the finishing work as the humid y is a little high ,and as Dan this one goes to my daughter her dog chewed up the corner of her old one. hes house broke now and not cutting teeth now as he was then a puppy ,she saw it and cant wait for it she likes the Fleur-de-lis says it Louisiana coffee table ,she has promised me some gumbo and a crawfish pie ,told her id build her a end table too for that ,thanks for looking i know its a long ways from top knotch craftsmanship but im on my way there and having fun learning

I’ll bet she loves the table!!!
You must be a good man, as they say….
It’s hard to keep a good man down!!!
Maybe that’s why I don’t complete projects in a timely manner….
I’m always down for a little procrastination!!!

How long is it? I could never get an 8’ in my little corolla. But a few 4’s would be fine.

Holy Cow! That is one nice “CoonAss” table my friend. My daughter is building a big fancy new house and all the woodwork is pine! They could afford whatever they wanted but she just likes the look of pine so you got nothing to apologize for with this cool table.

Nice. Looks like a trip to the big box store in the morning for some boards and poly.
