This is my first attempt at making a marking knife. It made out of Sapele, and i used a hack saw blade for the tip. Its very simple but it seems to do the trick nicely. I don’t own any power tools or machines apart from a cordless driver, so it all been done mostly by hand. The blade took most of the time, I never really thought about how hard a hacksaw blade could be, let alone one from Tesco.

I think you did a nice job on this. Did you file the blade edges by hand or with a bench grinder? I need to make one of these for myself. Getting tired of fat pencil lines. Thanks.

I did the blade on a few grades of sand paper and a flat table. Took a long time and I sanded my fingers a bit because it’s so small. Good luck with yours.
