I have conceived a new concept resulting in a series of turnings so far. This first one is of Texas walnut. I call it my tree of life series. It was inspired by tree’s texture. I first turn the bowl into the shape I want then I texture the outside using chisels and layers of milk paint. I then take a solid piece of walnut split apart to use the grain on the top lid. The one trick is has to be green lumber to turn and to split for texture. I then give the bowl height with a mitsumata branch . The concept of textured walnut with a white mitsumata branch can be used for other uses like texture on furniture , sculpture or wall hangings which I will display later on after I have finished items. All this and Heaven too.
