I built a pair of these many years ago. This sort of thing is really all about the wood and surfaces and the play of light. Technically this sofa is not hard to build. The mass of the wood is nice. Finish is shellac and wax.

Walnut… whatever particular variety I can get in Los Angeles.
Kiln dried… unsteamed I think.
I’ll have to look for a front pic… it’s just a straight board like
on the back.
