I built a pair of these many years ago. This sort of thing is really all about the wood and surfaces and the play of light. Technically this sofa is not hard to build. The mass of the wood is nice. Finish is shellac and wax.

Nice job. It has a simple & elegant look about it. What species of wood did you use? Do you have a picture of the front?

Walnut… whatever particular variety I can get in Los Angeles.
Kiln dried… unsteamed I think.

I’ll have to look for a front pic… it’s just a straight board like
on the back.

No plans. I just made sketches until I got an idea I liked.
