Off and on for about ten years now my wife has been getting valentines from me based on the “Bee Mine” pun.
They have been as simple as a hand drawn card and as complex as a 3D mine with matchbox machinery and fuzzy little bees from the craft store. This year marquetry seemed to be the way to go.
Yes, she loved it. It made her smile.

Your wife must have been thrilled. That is worth a 100 Hallmark cards. Really nice work Paul. It’s going into my favourites for next year’s valentine. How many did you make.

It must be Valentines Day. This is sure to please on the day. Very nicely done Paul! I’ve never thought of a mine as being romantic before. I hope she isn’t a gold digger.

how very romantic, and very clever…the bow of a boat and the mine, and the bee looks like a mischievous drone looking for his queen…...and you found her, and have her heart, and she has yours…....a beautiful way to express it…....your friend …bob

Thanks folks,
Bob, I just made one…. I only have one valentine.
Griz, It’s actually a mine cart on the rails but that’s my bad .. not yours.
Robert, Always fun to meet LJ friends in person.
