Flowers made the wife cry

Made these for my wife for Valentine’s Day. Found the pattern in the recent woodworking magazine and knew that these were the flowers I was going to give her. I usually don’t buy flowers on valentines because they are so much more money. I do buy them all year long for her though. Well when I gave them to her she cried. She thought they were the most beautiful thing ever. The flowers are made of blood wood and the leaves and stems are made of popular. Box is made of birch plywood and all finished with a coat of lacquer. The greenery is from Michaels. This was made to hang on the wall so she can see them every day. Thanks for looking and enjoy.

Wow, Those are BEAUTIFUL! And the best thing is she will have them forEVER.
That’s the thing I hate about real flowers… they cost a small fortune and in a week they’re ready for the mulch pile.

Tim, you out did us all buddy. Those roses are beautiful, but you sure have set the bar high for yourself. Can’t wait to see what you have in mind for next year :).

Thanks everyone. the wife is loving all your coments. Yes I am very worried about next year. I have no ideas yet but I do try to out do myself every year for her. I was thinking if I can talk her into a lathe I would make her a nice pole and I could do a pole dance for her next year. But then I though what if I get a splinter…... Ouch.

Crying is no big deal when giving the wife a present.

One year I got her an old gasoline powered Maytag washer…. she cried.
One year I got her a Thigh Master…... she cried.
One year I got her some Richard Simmons videos…... she cried.
Last year I got her a new Maytag Washer and Dryer combo….. she cried. even when I threw in an iron and ironing board extra!
This year she said she wanted something that tasted good and kept hinting for months.
I got her a gift certificate to Weight watchers….. she cried again.

I just cannot win. It’s all stuff she said she needed or wanted!

Excellent work on the flowers! And while real ones are nice, these will last many years to come. I’m glad your wife likes them!
