Project Information

It was time to get organized with my Forstner bits. I had more than fit in the set I bought which were hard to remove. So I made this simple minded holder. Just drilling a hole with the bit and placing it in the hole.

I wanted to be able to access the bits easily without having to lever them out of the holder set most of them were in. Also wanted to be able to carry the bits the work area.

Was surprised that this holder allowed me to set it flat or one end facilitating storage.

Also a plus the holes allowed me to quickly check which size I needed.

I made another holder for the extras and marked the sizes I was missing. (last picture)

I made a block with all the bit sizes I have so I can check which size I need as you stated but I never thought of combining the two ideas together as you did. Great organizing idea…....................

Great idea, and those wooden boxes the sets come in are great storage trays for "other" important items. Guess I will be out in the shop this afternoon working…....

Very cool! I made a smaller version to keep all of my odd-sized pen making bits together but I like how you added the stand to the side.
