Urn made for a freinds dog. Made from 1 continuous piece of maple with the streak wrapping around all 4 sides. Walnut base. Finished with a padded blonde shellac and rubbed out with steel wool and wax.

-- measure twice, cut once, swear and start over.

Access from the bottom? I made an urn several years ago and I thought there were some special accomodations you had to make, etc. Then I learned they were just nothing more than a box.

Nice piece of wood to use as well.

One of my favorite things to do is follow the grain or feature like this, around the box. And you did a spectacular job! Really like the bevel on the top – super accent. I wouldn’t mind this being my urn.

Beautiful box, like the wood and the bevel on top. Great tribute to a man’s best friend.

That’s a really nice thing to do for your friend. My dog’s ashes are in a plastic container. You’ve inspired me to make something beautiful to put them in.
