This case, made of oak, was built for a local Christian school. Had no formal plans, just sample pictures found on the web. It was one of my first attempts at raised panels cut on a table saw.

You said something interesting in your description “It was one of my first attempts at raised panels cut on a table saw.” How did you do that, because I would like to do the same with an entertainment center I’m building.

Captain Hammer, I used tips from here to cut the raised panels on my saw – http://groups.msn.com/JerrysWoodworkingExtraordinaire/raisedpanelsonthetablesaw.msnw

Not sure I’d do it again, but liked the experience I gained. It didn’t seem an unsafe way, but the concern was always in the back of my mind for some reason. Now, I’d just go over to my friend’s, Marty, house. He has a panel cutting bit and a big ole router table. haha

Randy,

This is a nice display case and you did a good job on the design and finish. The raised panels add a nice touch to it as well.

Thanks for the post.

Randy, you did a great job on this! I’m sure the school appreciates it very much. Panels look nice. What kind of finish did you use?
