I made this display case as a conversation piece for my office. It started as sort of a joke but the project has rekindled my interest in the craft. My father was a fine furniture craftsman and boy judging by my joinery work I have a LOT to learn. Old Dad made it look SOOO easy. Case is solid pine with 1/4” ply in dados along the back, the front is Lexan (ironically practically unbreakable) I’ve got it slotted into 1/4” dados on the sides and bottom. There is a slot in the top that the front can be slid up and out to adjust the contents. (weapons are all airsoft plastic replicas) I mounted 3/4” dowels as the weapon support through the back with wood screws through large fender washers for support.

I’m pretty happy with the result. I’ve gotten some good chuckles from it.

I’ve wanted to make one of these for years and kept putting it off. Glad to see your interest in woodworking rekindled.

Looks good and makes a good laugh. A great way to display the collection and nice contrast on the red background.

Have your say...
