Several Bowls

These are some of the first bowls that I have made.

The first one is the second one I ever did. It was made with a faceplate and double sided lathe tape. After a few of these I decided a chuck was necessary as the tape was scary to use. It is made out of maple with lacquer for a finish.

The second one is a tiny cup made out of padauk with lacquer also as the finish.

The third one was an interesting turn. I have no idea what kind of wood it is and would be really interested if someone did know what it was. It had a fruit smell while I was turning and was pretty corrosive. It was also the first and only bowl that has come off the lathe while I was turning. I am much more careful now to make sure that doesn’t happen.
