I walk by this bush next door to my house every day when I get home from work. It’s in the empty field next to my house. I have no idea what kind of shrub it is, or what kind of wood that is, but I thought it would make an interesting ring, and a fun project. I didn’t put CA on these rings this time around, but I did put some mineral oil on them.
I took a couple of the larger branches and chopped a few disks with the band saw, and then used my forstner bit to cut the center out. I used a small 1/2 inch drum on my Rigid oscillating drum sander to enlarge the ring size on a couple of them. Then I just sanded the outside until it was to the thickness I liked.

Like the look of this ring. Great find on the wood which has beautiful grains and nicely turned.

All hand shaped using my drum sander Fishinbo, or maybe I should say shaped by eyeballing it since I didn’t actually hand sand it. No turning though. Thanks for the compliment.
