An old bench had been left to die a slow death, but I rescued it. My son and I removed all the old wood, he polished the brass bolts, we cut oak slats from a recycled pallet to match the size and sanded everything down, drilled the holes and rebuilt the bench.
My twins had to try it out as soon as it was done. The main picture and the last picture show it with the Thompson’s water seal applied. A great little project that created some father/son time.
EDIT** I added one more picture, showing the bench after a second coat of stain and completely finished. Now I’m looking for more bench legs to refurbish. ;-)
