Grandson's Loft Bed

My daughter wanted a loft bed for her son’s room. This was my first shot at one of these so the layout was probably primitive. All cedar 2×6’s. All edged routed and sanded for a smooth feel. From Home Depot. No finish. I put a sliding tray on each side at the top so he can put books and his glasses on them. I also used a forstner bit to drill a drink holder in one of the trays. Oak buttons hide the screws at the ends. Rope lighting underneath lights up the desk and dresser.

I wanted to post this a couple of weeks ago but have been waiting for the boy to pickup his room.
Trying to get him to clean his room is like trying to push a river up hill…..................

Very nice job. Very cool idea with the sliding trays.

If you find a way to get him to clean his room consistently, please post it.

Mike,

That’s an awesome bed Grandpa and what a great space you have created with it.

Well done.
