My Daughter-in-Law texted me last week that she wondered if I would send some projects her way for a friends silent auction that would benefit a small parochial school. I said, “sure”. Then I thought I’d better ask when she needed the things and she texted back ” Need the description by the 10th of Feb and the items by the 3rd of March”. Hmmmm. Stephanie, Stephanie, Stephanie…my magic wand is broken. But like most of us here, we like the challenge, and I wasn’t about to pull some of my other things off a shelf to fill her order. So here are a few so far.

Pecan bowl with descending beads from top to bottom. Kinda like a beehive I suppose. Love the way pecan turns and it always has some interesting contrasting colors. This one has a few interesting dark flecks in it and a nice knottish type artifact on one side. it’s 7.5” in diameter and 3.5” tall. Nice sized nut bowl, or anything else you’d like to put in it. It’s finished to 320 with, so far, 2 coats of natural Danish Oil. I’ll most likely put a few more coats on it and then see if I need to do any more than that.

That’s one Stephanie.

Great bowl Scott. I like that you kept the width of the rings in proportion to the diameter. Stephanie seems to be a great motivator!

Thanks Stefang and Monte, the bowl feels absolutely great in the hands, very solid and substantial, yet not bulky. A shame I have to send it to Michigan, because my wife loves it. Told her I’d make another similar as soon as I find another pecan blank.
