The color in those mugs are fantastic…It looks like candy cane..Who cares if they are useable since they look more like a couple of mugs make from big pieces of candy art.

Like the colors! Monte…why are your photos mostly looking under exposed? I think we miss some of the subltties of your pieces?

These are beautiful. It's enough just to look at them. You can't beat natures colors.

I really need to work on my photography skills. I am sitting here because I have a bad cold and I don't like coughing and sneezing when I am working with saws. Next show is in March.

Take care.

Monte those look really neat, I too love the coloring. I am sure they have a ton of uses as decorations. Hope you can kick that cold soon.

Great looking mugs Monte. Maybe if you encase them in epoxy finish they could be used (although they would probably look like plastic then).

They both are very nice. You can not mix between timber and hot water, forget about using them and keep them for admiration and talking point. Well done.

Those are pretty enough just to look at. Several people have talked about using poly and a vacum to "stabilize" wood that is past its expiration date. Never tried it myself but sounds worthwhile. And get well- you've got stuff to do!

Very pink, our Box Elder rarely has that much color. Even good Box Elder is tough to work I think. You did a great job.
