It’s a bit of a blessing and a curse I’m afraid but every time someone I know sees one of the bean bag sets I am making they almost immediately ask me to build one for them … such is the case with this set which I recently completed for my brother
He is a big fan of the FSU Seminoles (so much so that I should’ve snuck a Florida Gator logo in there somewhere) and gave me total creative freedom—as long as I used actual colors .. thanks to the “Team Colors” commercials that our local big-box chain runs
Same as every other set—24”w x 36”l x 4”d—1×4 box frame with a 1/2” MDO face .. hand drawn and painted
The next set I make I’m keeping….

This is another nice set. These are extremely popular especially with the ability to personalize them.
Did you make the bags as well?

I will bite, out loud and in public. Bean Bag Set? What exactly is this thing? It appears to be great craftsmanship, nice painting at the least. I’m not knocking it, just declaring my ignorance. But I can’t say that’s a really nice one of “those” when I haven’t a clue what THOSE are. I’m thinking it’s a dikfore . . . ;-)

LOL – that’s great!
Bean Bag, or tailgate toss, or just “bags” is a backyard game much like horse shoes in that each board is placed a distance apart – something like 25 feet – and players alternate turns by trying to toss a corn filled bag onto the board, or preferably, into the hole to accumulate points. It’s a very popular game with many places around where I live actually sponsoring tournaments for charity, etc.
Scott – I did not make the bags this go around .. while I do own a sewing machine it’s one power tool I haven’t tried to master ;-)

In Ohio they call it cornhole. I just built a set for my church (bought the bags online $20 a set including shipping). Great for picnics, tailgateing, etc. Like horseshoes but MUCH safer.

Leon’s right. They call it “cornhole” in Indiana, also. It’s extremely popular with the college crowd. And, there is an association with rules and platform specifications:
