Mrs. WoodrookieII requested a new recipe card box. (A long time ago.) I’ve got two commissioned pieces I need to start, but The Mrs. reminded me that I said I would make her a box. I asked her what kind of woods she would want and she said mahogany and hickory. After the last box joint box I made, I swore I’d not make another. But I figured box joints would look nice with mahogany and hickory. So I made a box joint jig.
Lined it with oak, finished it with several coats of wipe on poly. Outside dimensions: 7.5” side to side, 5.25” front to back, 5.75” top to bottom. Holds the 4×6 recipe cards.
It was a hit.
