I have been working with a friend of mine who has an engraver, and he is really good refining patterns to burn into wood. He was a little worried about the consistency of the burn since the lids have camphor to them. I am really impressed how well he did with these.

The boxes are various maples, with purple heart lids, and are 6×6x4ish. Some birdseye, some figured, some curly ambrosia.

Truly elegant. Your friend has quite the talent as do you. What a combination.

That is a very nice box! Love the burning and the random color strip in the birdseye.

Wow, that is awesome. What type of machine does he use to do the engraving / burning?

Combining your cool wood with both of your talents resulted in some very nice boxes.

Stunning figure in that maple – really nice! The burning is like a crop circle on the lid…too perfect to have been done by a human…...or was it????? How DID he do that?
