Another bandsaw box of very old reclaimed redwood and maple. Dimensions:base is 12 1/2×8 1/2”, overall height is 17”. Finished with 3 coats brushed on shellac followed by hours of rubbing/polishing with shellac pad. The back is some Doug Fir reclaimed from my dad’s barn. Some of you will remember when I made the “Archimedes Trammel” toys. When I needed an ellipse for this base, I modified the prototype to attach a pencil and the result was a perfect ellipse! That was fun and now that I can draw them, ellipses will be used more.

Andy…nice versatility and a new perespective on your creativity. Imagination sure goes a long way and is sure fun when the journey begins each time.

You must have used the trammel for the base because the leaves aren’t ellipses!

I used to make those Archimedes Trammel toys too!

I kept one on my desk at work and every time my manager came to talk to me he would pick it up and “grind” with it. Little did he know that everyone in the department knew that I called it a bullshit grinder and they thought it was named and being used appropriately!

Nice box Andy – you’re getting pretty “high tech” with all those fancy gadgets! Cool design and the skies the limit! Love the Redwood…....

I see you are playing with a new form & toy!!! Certainly not what I was expecting from an “Andy” box!!!

A fantastic Non-Andy-Andy Box!!!

Nicely designed and produced. I like the combination of the grain patterns and the contrasting woods. Well done.

Andy so glad to see that you are still able to produce such beautiful pieces of woodwork even with what’s going on right now.

Thanks all. I take NO credit for the design as I stole it from one posted recently (but I can’t remember who did it to give them credit). The other one was some really nice/fancy wood.
