I built this night stand using old Qt. sawn church pew lumber I found on CL.
I paid 25 bucks for 8 boards.
I did not use any plans , just worked from a photo I found online of a night stand I liked.
All mortise and tenon joints.
It took about a 10 days on and off to build.
I hoping to build a chest of drawers to go along with this and the bed I built at Christmas.
The disease I contracted is slowly robbing me of my ability to work more than a few hours at a time.
So these projects take me longer than before.
I enjoy looking at all your work out there.
I just thought I would share this little project with all of you.

Very nice looking. Church pews generally are top quality wood.

Very nice. You chose a beautifully “rayed” piece for the drawer. Well done.

Good stuff, RedDog! Looks like the one I built from reclaimed lumber, too. A great piece you’ll get lots of use out of. Enjoy your time in the shop!

It is great looking and sturdy. Like the joinery, finish and the amazing wood grain. Well done!

Gorgeous! I too have some old church pews to work with. Some butternut and some oak. I’m hoping to get the time to build a kitchen table out of the butternut. Nice job on the stand. I love the piece you used for the drawer front!

Great nightstand! I like the solid proportions and the wonderful dovetails too.
Nice work.
