"Blue" Birdhouse

This birdhouse was made from plywood scraps. Then I used craft sticks, cutting off the rounded ends with some wire nippers, and attached them to the plywood with exterior wood glue. The trim and porch roof was done using the same sticks. The Roof was just some thick oak plywood scraps I had left over from some cabinets I built. As you can see in one of the pictures a bluebird took up residence soon after I hung it on the tree. This birdhouse is nothing fancy, but by using some small scraps and adding craft sticks to make it look like realistic wood siding gave it some character I think.

Looks cool! I see you already had a “customer” for it! Very nice. :)

Nice work on your birdhouse! We have a bird house that Bluebirds occupy every year. Beautiful birds! Here’s a site you might like if you like Bluebirds! Sialas

A great house. Love the awning, the fake window and the barn door opening (is that what they like?). So what does the little sign say off to the left?
Looks like you were instantly rewarded, I’ve never had such luck.

Thanks for the nice comments guys (and gals). Gene the sign says “welcome home”. I get things like that at Michaels and other craft stores. I just like different things. I have made birdhouses with front porches and put little rocking chairs on the porch. I get lots of stuff like that in the dollhouse furniture section at AC Moore and Michaels. I do make lots of traditional houses but just like making things right out of my head, no plans, just my thoughts, lol.
