This is a 5 board bench that is a 9 board bench. The legs are two pieces of walnut doweled together and the top is three pieces of maple. The floors in my home are maple that was grown and milled locally with a mixture of birdseye tiger and everything in between. I like the way it looks so I used tiger maple on the sides and birdseye in the center. The top is screwed on from the bottom using glued blocks to the rails. Sanded down to 220 and 4 coats of General Clear.
