Spinning a new mallet!

Basically started as a piece of firewood. I hope this new Beech mallet lasts as long as the Osage Orange one, it’s about beat! I really like this design, the knob/handle combination lets you keep a real loose grip and “throw it” at the gouge saving your joints a beating!

-- How it happened that Mastro Cherry, carpenter, found a piece of wood that wept and laughed like a child.

Nice job on the mallet. Could you tell me a little more about the wood used and the process it went thru? I got myself about 6 rounds of red oak from a tree that got cut down, I was wondering how to use some of it for just this type of project.
