Funny how some people look at the knot in the board as something undesirable and I agree they can be but they also can be used for simple things…I hate tossing wood with figure into the scrap box and burning it….if you smoke…try a Black Cherry Pipe you will not be disappointed, my friend says Apple wood so that is next…just burn the bowl first I use a sacrificial piece with a hole so not to burn the rim.

great pipe! Oh and to elaborate on the “seeds” you might create a “cosmic” bird-like logo for yourself and wood burn it into your work such as a Phoenix… since most birds eat seeds and are bound to drop a few into the bowl from time to time.

Take care and thanks for sharing – it’s awesome watching what you create.
