This was the second wood project I have done. The first being the bed I made. I might up load that one day. The wife wanted something to display her medals from running so I made this. Used some oak and dadoed out the outside rails to match the thickness of the other board I had. I then took the other board cut a bunch of slats at about 30 degrees, used the first and last slat as top and bottom and took a few of the small ones cut lots of spacers and used those between the larger slats to make places to slide the ribbons through to be attached to the back. Glued the slats and spacers in the rails and screwed on small boards on the top and the bottom.
To finish I burnt in the words and threw a few layers of poly on the peice. Though later the wife said she thought it would have been nice to have it painted.
